This was made extra special as Dr. Ramey used all her scholarly wisdom to paint a detailed picture of what life was like during those times. I traveled to Scotland in 2013 and 2018 to hike the West Highland Way and the Speyside Way through the stunning Scottish countryside and villages. "Forever Changed the Way I Read the Bible"
"My trip to Turkey with Dr. Ramey as a college student forever changed the way I read the Bible. Sometimes the people and events of Scripture can feel far away and unknowable 2000 years later in a different culture on another continent. Yet as Dr. Ramey read our group sections of the New Testament in the places where it was first written and read, the stories came alive. "Right here where you’re sitting," she told us, “this is where Paul preached this sermon we’re reading about to a group of real human beings just like you who sometimes fell asleep when the preacher got long-winded!” Visiting those early church sites and listening to Dr. Ramey’s teachings there, I felt more connected to the early church in both their love for Jesus and their messy conflicts than I ever had. Her engaging teaching and storytelling grounded in scholarship brought both the ancient sites and the Bible alive in my imagination."

"FUN, Adventurous, Educational, Well Planned"
"My wife and I experienced our first biblical tour several years ago with a good friend and pastor of mine. We went to Israel for a 10-day tour of the Holy Land. This trip to Israel was incredible, and it began our appetite for biblical history and travel. To be able to walk where Jesus walked was life-changing. To say the least....we wanted more! I love the writings of Paul, and my wife is so good at finding GREAT things on the internet. I asked her to find a "Walking in the footsteps of Paul" tour, and she did exactly that. I'm not sure what Google search she used....but I believe God is controlling the algorithms of these Biblical Tour searches... LOL.... He led us to Meg Ramey and an incredible group of people we never met. This trip to Greece and Turkey was EXACTLY what we were looking for. The Curriculum, the itinerary, the food, the BIBLICAL food.... and Meg. Start to finish, our trip was exactly what we were looking for. This was a very comfortable trip - your participation level (reading aloud, praying aloud, hiking...). Meg does a GREAT job of knowing who she has in her group and making the pieces of the puzzle fit together. Buy that airplane ticket, pack your bag, read from Meg’s suggested reading list if you like, then go and enjoy what she has planned. Bring that small New Testament, a journal, your camera, of course, and some cash for occasional shopping.
Meg will have the biblical and historic sites wisely chosen, hotel arrangements made, restaurants selected, any required tickets to museums bought, and a bus and driver ready to move.
We joined with a dozen others to tour BIBLICAL TURKEY, walking in Perge, Antioch of Pisidia, beautiful Assos on the Aegean Sea (my favorite), and more as we enter the ancient cities of Paul’s first, second, and third missionary journeys. We also visited several of the seven cities of Revelation: Laodicea, Ephesus, and Pergamum!
Meg is an excellent biblical scholar and teacher. She knows what to see and has contacts on the ground who seamlessly supplement the tour experience. We so enjoyed our time in Turkey that we joined Meg once again—this time to follow IN THE FOOTSTEPS OF PAUL: GREECE, EPHESUS, & AN AEGEAN CRUISE. The trip is incredible, with special stops at Delphi, the center of the ancient world, the Great Meteora Monastery, and an art studio where icons are handpainted. Then arriving in Athens, we stood on Mars Hill, where we know Paul engaged the local intellectuals in discussion and debate. Later we took in the stunning Acropolis Museum. We visited Patmos, where John the Evangelist received his revelation, and four more Greek islands before heading home.

"Kathleen is the ultimate tour guide. She produces a curiosity and love for a place in the people she is around and is always willing go the extra step to help travelers have the experience of a lifetime. For instance, on a trip to the Trossachs we experienced very foggy weather that obscured our views of most of the main sites. The next day she rerouted our drive to return to several places in the sunshine to see the views we had missed the previous day. She is always thoughtful, and as an added benefit, she always has a bit of trivia for you to make a place come alive. We would travel with Kathleen a thousand times over!"
