Victoria Christman, Ph.D.
Curriculum Development
The Manager of Mischief
Victoria's introduction to international education came when she traveled to the US from the northwest of England to complete an undergraduate degree in History and Comparative Religion at Harvard, and she has been studying abroad and promoting study abroad ever since. She received her Ph.D. in history from the University of Arizona and spent three years in the archives of the Netherlands and Belgium, conducting research for her dissertation on early modern religious coexistence.
In 2005, she took a faculty position at Luther College, where she has been teaching history and international studies ever since. Since 2009, she has been creating and leading study-away courses for Luther College students, work she enjoys so much, that she has now transitioned into the role of Director of the Center for Global Learning. Each year, she and the Center's excellent team of study away professionals help 300-500 undergraduates explore their academic interests elsewhere on the planet.
